Disability Tax Credit

The DTC is a non-refundable tax credit that helps people with disabilities, or their caregivers, reduce the amount of income tax they owe.

Speech-language pathologists, doctors, and nurse practitioners can complete the speech impairment section for the DTC. Learning disabilities may also qualify, with relevant sections completed by a doctor, nurse practitioner, or psychologist.

The Child Disability Benefit (CDB) is a tax-free monthly payment provided to families who care for a child under 18 with a severe and long-term physical or mental impairment.
