About
"When a flower doesn’t grow you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower."
Hi, I’m Zaynab, a bilingual registered Speech-Language Pathologist and owner of Kalam Speech Therapy. I have been joyously supporting pediatric communication for 8 years. There’s nothing quite like witnessing that moment of triumph and relief when a child communicates just a little bit easier than the day before—it's a privilege I never take for granted.
I’ve had the opportunity of working in diverse settings across London and Ottawa, including hospitals, schools, community organizations, and clinics. Currently part of CHEO’s First Words Preschool Speech and Language Program, I’m well-equipped to help families navigate Ottawa’s public system and access the support they need.
Outside of work, my heart belongs to my family. As a devoted mother of two young children, I integrate my professional learning with family practices, actively exploring respectful parenting approaches. This dual perspective enriches my work and deepens my understanding of the unique challenges families face.
Being a catalyst for communication is a significant responsibility, but it’s one that I embrace wholeheartedly. At Kalam Speech Therapy, our mission is to provide a safe, fun space where children make meaningful progress in their communication skills, while equipping parents with the tools and knowledge they need to confidently support their child’s journey every step of the way. It would be my privilege to work with you and your family!
